Sound LT car seat test system: end-of-line noise testing of power seats and seat belts, with automatic pass/fail results on the production line.

Sound LT is SP SONIC's test system for car seat noise. While the seat motors run through each movement, a Class 1 measurement microphone records the noise and the SoundQC analyser sends SPL, Leq and Lmax to the Sound LT software. Each movement is compared with its accepted limit and the seat is passed or rejected automatically. How the system works: the controller supplies power to the seat and monitors voltage and current while each motor runs. The software runs the test sequence (slide, lifter, tilt and reclining in both directions) and the seat belt test, shows the sound level live against the accepted zone, and stores the result for every serial number. On request, the system can send signals to a PLC to control other equipment on the line. The system is usually installed with a noise test room or booth on the seat production line, designed by SP SONIC to keep factory noise out of the measurement.
